We had an amazing stay at this cozy cottage in a peaceful and picturesque location. The fully equipped kitchen, including thoughtful touches like salt, oil, and foil, made self-catering a breeze. The spacious rooms with comfortable beds each having their own bathroom were perfect for our family. The surrounding views were breathtaking and we loved exploring the nearby walks and attractions, like Hadrian's Wall. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, even providing delicious homemade shortbread. We definitely recommend this affordable and well-located cottage for a memorable stay.
The twin room could have been cleaner, especially under the bed for those with dust allergies.

The location of the cottage was absolutely stunning, surrounded by beautiful countryside with amazing views. We loved the peaceful and remote setting, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The owners were extremely friendly and approachable, and we really appreciated the thoughtful touches such as fresh eggs, milk, and homemade marmalade left for us in the kitchen. It was also great to have a cozy fire already lit for us upon arrival, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Although the cottage was charming and well-maintained, the kitchen was quite small and basic. While it was adequate for a few days' stay, it would have been nice to have more space and modern appliances.

The cottage was absolutely lovely with stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. The cozy rooms were well-appointed, and we especially appreciated having en-suite shower rooms for each bedroom. The wood-burning stove added to the charm and warmth of the cottage. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home with their homemade shortbread, fresh eggs, and milk. The location was perfect, offering a tranquil getaway while still being close to nearby amenities.
The cleanliness in some areas of the cottage was not up to standard. We noticed dirty knobs on the cooker, greasy baking trays, and mold in the shower.

We had a fantastic time exploring the beautiful countryside surrounding the cottage. The location was perfect, with easy access to attractions like Vindoland and Hadrian's Wall. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, providing fresh flowers and homemade shortbread upon arrival. The cottage itself was cozy and clean, with all the necessary amenities. We loved the log burning stove and the comfortable beds. It was a great base for our family vacation.
The beds were a bit too firm for our liking.

I had a fantastic stay at Hillis Close Farm Cottage! It truly felt like a home away from home. The cottage was cozy and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was peaceful and surrounded by beautiful scenery. The hosts were friendly and even lit the fire for our arrival. They also provided thoughtful touches like fresh milk and eggs.
I do have to mention that the cooker in the cottage was quite old and dirty. It didn't match the cleanliness of the rest of the cottage.
